Individual Life & Leadership Coaching

What is coaching? It’s a process of learning through conversation toward the discovery of a path forward. The role of the coach is neither therapist nor consultant, both of which are valuable. A coach provides deep, active listening accompanied by the precise questions that help one find that next step, or insight to help you improve your leadership skills or simple gain a broader vision for your life.

My own coaching is goal oriented. My primary work is with congregational leaders and pastors. I also work with those in other fields from non-profits management and business ventures. Each coaching session concludes with the question: what for you in the next right step from today’s session? That question, and others similar to it, is designed to keep you moving in a positive direction. Coaching is never intended to be a fix-all strategy nor is it the imposition of an answer. I will work with you in creative collaboration, open to the Spirit who makes all things new. I offer these two things as coach: accountability for your next steps and clarity about your purpose.

Congregational & Leadership Retreats

I have designed several retreats for leaders - both pastors and active congregational leaders. These occasions to get away for a day or longer often provide the opportunity for leaders to know one another better through conversations, music and guided work to ensure you know your purpose as a team and have a process for bringing that purpose into being with your congregation or community. These retreats also contain time for music, silence, prayer and much conviviality as your deepen your experiencing of belonging to God and one another in service to others.
